Tree Services

Trees provide shade, cooling and contribute to the amenity of a property. However, planning must be undertaken in the selection of the site and the species. There is also an ongoing need to maintain the health of the tree in the hostile urban environment. Regular monitoring and pruning as required will add to the tree's longevity and meet your obligations with respect to public liability due diligence.

Selection and Planting

One of the most important aspects of tree management and particularly planning in urban areas is selecting the right species for planting in a particular situation. This can be dependent on the size of the area available, drainage, soil type and available light as well as the desired objectives for planting the tree.

Pruning

Tree pruning is a necessity for trees on private and public property. If performed correctly it should not only provide the required clearance or hazard mitigation but it should also improve the structure and health of the tree.

Removal

It would be great if trees never needed to be removed but unfortunately there are a number of reasons why removal is sometimes necessary. This includes dead, fallen and diseased trees or those which need to be replaced with more suitable species (because of the damage they are causing or the potential dangers they present). We have extensive experience in the safe dismantling and removal of all types of trees and palms.

Stump Grinding

Once your tree has been felled or removed, the stump that remains is best ground out using a stump grinder. This is done by using a hydraulically driven machine that has a spinning wheel on the front with teeth that grind the stump into little pieces of mulch. As it does so, it mixes the waste with the surrounding soil so you are left with a mixture of soil and very fine mulch. This means that your soil benefits from the additional nutrients found in the mulch. This is often left to settle over the following couple weeks in order to fill the hole. Any excess can be spread around the garden or can be removed if required.
